Best Piece of Advice for a Bride Shopping for a Gown- Do not overwhelm yourself as a bride by trying on too many gowns, I strongly suggest you try on one of each fit to then narrow down the look you desire. Often times brides “Say Yes to The Dress” on one which they originally would not have even considered to try on!

Maria Freitas (“Miss Maria”), originally from Portugal, is the daughter of a shoemaker who got married and moved to the US when she was only 16 years old. She arrived in America on a Friday and by Monday was working in a clothing factory in Boston! She quickly moved up the ranks in the factory and when the owner decided to close, she and her husband bought their own factory! Their daughter soon joined them and as a family, they operated their own clothing factory of 30 people for 27 years. Making mostly suits and sportswear, they manufactured clothing for many big labels, including Jones New York and Talbot’s. After living in Boston for 38 years, Miss Maria and her husband closed their factory and decided to move to Florida. Despite “retiring” at 60, Miss Maria can’t stop working and started at Angelique’s almost immediately after arriving in Florida. She’s been with Angelique’s for 12 years now and is loved by brides for her sweet personality and ability to make them look their best. She is proud to have worked since was 16 and likes to say, “If you’ve got dreams, go for it!” Miss Maria has 5 kids and 8 grandkids that always make her proud!
